Il-Sung Kim was born on April 15, 1912 in Man'gyondae, Japanese Korea [now North Korea]. He was a writer, known for Kotpanum chonio (1972), Pibada (1969) and Sun of the Nation (1984). He was married to Song-Ae Kim and Jong-Suk Kim. He died on July 8, 1994 in P'yongyang, North Korea.
