Heather Muriel Nguyen
Heather Muriel Nguyen (they/she) is a queer Vietnamese-American filmmaker passionate about visceral stories that honestly reflect queer and trans communities of Color grappling with intergenerational trauma and self-love. Heather's a 2020 Gemstone Studios/Sony Rising Storytellers semifinalist.
Her film about an asexual Asian-American girl (THO, "tuh") is the first by and about asexual BIPOC, and she is pitching a series adaptation. THO premiered at Outfest Fusion 2021 in the "Stand Up, Be Heard" category and theatrically premiered at Outfest Los Angeles 2021 in the "What A Girl Wants" shorts block.
In collaboration, Heather brings emotional depth and hunger to honestly reflect her communities.
