Lalu Alex was born in a Syro-Malabar Catholic Nasrani family in Piravom near Muvattupuzha, Kerala, India. He is also known as Laluchayan. Lalu Alex made his debut on the tinsel screen through the movie Thrishna. He started his career doing villainous roles. Later he also began to excel in comedy and supporting roles. He bagged the Kerala State Film Award for the Best Supporting Actor in 2004 for the movie Manjupoloru Penkutty.
