Arun Storrs was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. She is of Nepalese descent. She was adopted when she was a baby and grew up in Oregon. She graduated from South Eugene High School. In college, she double majored in Theater Studies and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration at Yale University. She performed on the stage in community theater and school plays since she was little, but started her professional film career with the lead (Kara) of indie film Ninja Zombies.
