Marc Lubbers

Marc Lubbers

Marc Lubbers was born and raised on various parts of Long Island, NY, but mostly in the small village of Sag Harbor, part of the famous Hamptons. His single-parent mother, a nurse, ran and elder-care facility in their home from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. As a child, Marc would perform skits and songs for his mother's residents with his collection of puppets, stuffed animals and Star Wars action figures. Defining moments inspiring Marc to a life as a performer came in the mid-1980s, among them: seeing Yul Brynner in Rodgers and Hammerstein's "The King & I" in New York City and Billy Joel's concert video "Live from Long Island". He was trained in the early 1990s as a musician and an actor at Susquehanna and Northwestern universities. Post-training, he concentrated on a career as a singer/songwriter, recording a demo album called "The First Step" in 1995 and touring throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as a solo performer. The 21st century has brought Marc back to acting full time. Recent highlights include playing Rob Reiner in NBC's "Young Rock", the Conductor/Troupe Leader in the JG Wentworth opera commercials reboot, and on stage in David Mamet's "Oleanna" and as Kreon in Sophocles' "Antigone". He has also been an actor and/or spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security, the US Veterans Affairs Department, and Volunteers of America. He currently lives in the Hershey, PA area with his wife of 25 years, 2 sons & cavapoo, and works regularly as a local hire in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC.
