Garrison Keillor was born Gary Edward Keillor on August 7, 1942, in Anoka, a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota. He is one of six children of Grace Ruth (Dunham) and John Philip Keillor, who was a carpenter and postal worker. His father was of English, Welsh, and German, descent, and his paternal grandfather was Canadian. His maternal grandparents were Scottish immigrants. Keillor graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in English in 1966. There he began his broadcasting career on the student-operated radio station, named Radio K. In 1969 he began writing for The New Yorker. On July 6, 1974 he started "A Prarie Home Companion" in a St. Paul college theatre before an audience of twelve people. In 1987, he moved to New York where, in 1989, he started "The American Radio Company", which after four seasons returned to the name "A Prarie Home Companion" in 1993, and is again based in Minnesota. From 1996-2001 Keillor authored an advice column, titled "Mr. Blue", on Salon.com. He resigned after having a heart surgery in 2001. Since June of 2005 Garrison Keillor has been a syndicated newspaper columnist at Salon.com. Garrison Keillor is a prolific author with over 100 of written or recorded works. He is also a storyteller, performance artist, radio host and comedian. He published eleven books, including three books for children. He is married to Jenny Lind Nilsson, a violinist in the Minnesota Opera Orchestra, with whom he has a daughter. He lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, with his wife and daughter, and owns a Manhattan apartment.

Garrison Keener is a British/American actor living and working in Seoul, South Korea. In early 2019, he debuted in first major film role the Korean production, Yu Gwan-sun, in which he had his first fully speaking Korean role and character. Then in late 2019, he starred in his first major Korean drama series, Never Twice. After that his career excelled and he went on to star in many other Korea drama series and film productions. His biggest movie role to date is a cast member of Woo-seok Yang's highly anticipated movie sequel Steel Rain 2. Also, in early 2021, he had his biggest role to date appearing in the hit Korean drama "Run On", where he played a Hollywood Cinematograher. Apart from just drama and film, Garrison has acted and appeared in adverts for Korean companies such as Genesis, Hyundai, Samsung, KIA, LG, and many other large Korean brands. As well as, for international brands like Mini and Maserati to name a few. Garrison was born in Nothern Ireland and was raised and grew up in the United States of America. He studied Political Science at Montana State University and graduated in 2003 with a bachelor's degree and later studied Enviromental Science at London South Bank University in 2007. He moved back to London, United Kingdom in 2004 and then moved to Seoul, South Korea in 2012 where he has been living ever since that time. He was a part-time model in London in 2008 - 2009 and then started his full-time modeling and acting career in Korea in early 2018. He is also actively involved in several acting programmes and online acting institutes in South Korea and the United Kingdom.
